in cleveland, he attacked us for closing a few of these loopholes. mr. boehner and the republicans in congress said no to these projects. fought them tooth and nail. mr. boehner has so far said no to infrastructure, that's bad for america. so let me be clear to mr. boehner and everybody else, we should not hold middle class tax cuts hostage any longer. when these same republicans, including mr. boehner, were in charge, the number of earmarks and pet projects went up, not down. >> is that the presidentç gettg turbocharged in the president hammered boehner throughout the speech including this. when he laid out an incredible small business idea and proposal. i am proposing that all-american businesses should be allowed to write off all the investment they do in 2011. and this will help small businesses upgrade their plants and equipment and will encourage large corporations to get off the sidelines and start putting their profits to work in places like cleveland and toledo and dayton. to most of you, i'll bet this just seems like common sense. but not to mr. boehner and his allies. >> i think t

information for us. bob? >> reporter: katie, i was just thinking as you commented there about the various planes involved. the one that we know of so far, because it's confirmed by american airlines, is that that flight 11 which had been scheduled from boston's logan airport to los angeles,that flight 11 was hijacked this morning. and it is presumed that that may thatbeen one of the planes went into one of the towers of the world trade center. there were at least two more planes involved in this because the other tower was hit. and then the pentagon was also there were eyewitness accounts th it was a plane that went into the pentagon. but so far we don't know the sources of those planes, whether they were commercial planes that had been hijacked, whether they were private planes, whether they had been hijacked at all. and i would point out the report from somerset county, pennsylvania, is so far just local authorities commenting. the faa has not confirmed that crash. so we're waiting to hear more, and i'm hearing just now -- >> bob -- confirming, so this adds to those earlier rumors, tha

're not back to work. and so the question is, did we need, as you suggest, more medicine or did we use the wrong medicine? and you can do all the economic models you want but many americans think what happened here is we had a big stimulus, it was somehow a lot of pork barrel spending to get through congress, we bailed out wall street, we didn't bail out main street and they want to know, where's the beef? >> today in the press conference there was a kind of undercurrent of questions that essentially goes like this, didn't you try to do too much? didn't you just take your eye off the ball when it came to the economy by doing health care as well? some other things in the first 18 or 19 months. do you think at the white house they think that? they never admit it but do you think they think they tried too much and they should have kept their eye more clearly on the economy now? >> i think that some of them do think that. i think the problem was they had a short-term economic focus and a very long-term focus on things like health care. and they kind of let the middle part take care of itse
